The ATA’s Metro Division is responsible for public transportation in the area. The Metro Division operates 70 bus routes. The Kansas City Area Transportation Authority is an interstate agency of Missouri and Kansas.
Standard fare is $1.25/trip, with transfers that expire within 2 hours. Service within the downtown is pretty comprehensive.
MAX – Metro Area Express
The MAX is a new bus rapid transit line connects the River Market, Downtown, Crown Center and the Plaza with fast, frequent and easy-to-use all-day service.
