As a new Missouri resident, you have 30 days to surrender your out-of-state driver’s license and apply for the appropriate Missouri driver’s license. You can complete the application process at your nearest driver’s license office location.
All Missouri residents who wish to receive a driver’s license must provide proof of residency, identity, and legal presence in the United States under Missouri’s “Show Me Proof” guidelines.
Testing requirements for new Missouri residents depend on the status of your out-of-state license. If your out-of-state license is currently valid or has been expired for less than 184 days, you’ll just need to complete a short vision screening and road sign recognition test to receive your Missouri driver’s license.
Registering Your Vehicle
New Missouri residents must register their motor vehicles within 30 days of establishing residency. To ensure that your vehicle is legally registered with the Missouri Department of Revenue’s Motor Vehicle Bureau, you must complete an Application for Missouri Title and License. This form should be submitted to your nearest motor vehicle office, along with the requested supporting documentation and payment for any registration fees. If you own more than one vehicle, you must complete a separate application for each vehicle you wish to register.
