The airport is about 8 km from downtown in Southern Sydney.  It is the biggest airport in the country, and has service throughout the south Pacific and the world.

Taxi
Each terminal has its own sheltered taxi rank with supervisors on hand in peak hours to ensure a smooth flow of taxis for travelers.  Drivers are required to accept all fares, big and small, from the airport. If you are only traveling a short distance, drivers can return back to their place in the queue after they have taken you to where you need to go. The curbside management team will help you and your driver with this request.

Please note that taxis are not permitted to pick up passengers outside of the taxi ranks and the driver will be fined AUD5,000 for breaking the regulation.

Here are some approximate fares you can expect to pay to or from Sydney Airport. Remember passengers pay for any bridge or road tolls on top of the fare (these fares are in Australian dollars and are based on non-peak traffic conditions):

Sydney Airport to:
* Sydney City $25
* North Sydney $35
* Manly $50
* Parramatta $75
* Liverpool $40
* Cronulla $35

Most routes to the airport have signs carrying the recognizable airplane symbol. The symbol will point which way to turn at each intersection. Follow these symbols as they show the most direct route to the airport.

The symbols will bring you to both the International and Domestic terminals. As you get closer they will be highlighted as International or Domestic.

Remember to keep a street directory on hand if you are unfamiliar with Sydney.

Airport Link is the private operator of the Green Square, Mascot, Domestic Airport and International Airport stations on CityRail’s airport train line.

There are rail stations located at both the International and Domestic Terminals. The Domestic rail station is located directly between T2 and T3 Terminals and is accessible from within the terminals from the arrivals level. The International rail station is located at the northern end of the terminal and is accessible from the arrivals level.

Travel to the City
Airport Link is a fast and convenient way to reach the centre of Sydney. Trains run approximately every 10 minutes and the journey into the city takes only 13 minutes. The international and domestic rail stations link directly to the City Circle which means most city destinations are within a short walk of stations.
