The Mavericks 25th anniversary season proved to be another successful one. They finished with a record of 58-24, second best in franchise history. The team made their fifth straight appearance in the NBA Playoffs and their 11th overall, tying the longest streak of consecutive playoff appearances in franchise history. Avery Johnson, the coach of the Dallas Mavericks was named the NBA Coach of the Year in April of 2006.
