The BC Lions play in the Western Division of the Canadian Football League.  They won the Grey Cup, the league’s championship, in 2006.  Canadian football is slightly different than the American version, with a wider field that values speed over size

The Canadians are a Class A Affiliate of the Oakland Athletics.  They play in the Northwest League’s Western Division.  The season, including the playoffs, lasts about three months, from mid June through mid December.

The Whitecaps play in the First Division of the United Soccer Leagues.  The club also has women’s and youth development teams that play under the Whitecaps banner.  The Whitecaps main rivals are the Seattle Sounders and the Portland Timbers.
