The BC Sports Hall of Fame is designed to honor and spotlight athletics in British Columbia. It has a lot of interactive exhibits that are a lot of fun and let you compete in different sports, like climbing and racing. The galleries cover 150 years of sports history.

This museum is at an actual airport about an hour’s drive from Vancouver. It’s exhibits are mainly outdoors, so save it for a sunny day. There are plenty of antique aircraft and exhibits explaining how flight works.

This museum is packed with exhibits on outer space. From a virtual spaceflight to exhibits on the space program and the museum’s observatory, this is a thoroughly engrossing stop. It has facilities for birthday parties too.

The Museum of Anthropology focuses on the indigenous people of the Pacific Northwest, and especially their art. There are also rotating exhibits and the museum sponsors music, dance, theatre, and other performing arts. The museum is located overlooking a cliff on the UBC campus and Tuesdays are free (donations suggested).

Science World is full of interesting and interactive exhibits on all sorts of scientific topics. It’s the perfect place to bring kids, who’ll have so much fun they won’t even realize they’re learning things too. The museum hosts a camp too.

This gallery ahs a wide range of artwork and features everything from classical paintings from the historic masters to contemporary Inuit designs. The gallery has around 15 exhibits a year. Also, the gallery publishes different volumes exploring it’s art, and hosts lectures and events for schools too.

The Maritime Museum covers British Columbia’s history on the high seas and is even the last stop for an old ship used to explore the Northwest Passage. There are interactive exhibits for kids that let them explore the deep or dress like buccaneers too.

Right by the Maritime Museum is the Vancouver Museum, which traces the history of Vancouver. From the Native people who inhabited the area, through European exploration and colonization to now. The museum has a fascinating timeline of toys throughout the decades, too.
