Los Gatos is a town in Santa Clara County. The population was 28,592 at the 2000 census. Its located on the southwest corner of San Jose on the hilly edge of the Santa Cruz Mountains.  Downtown has a lot of upscale shops and restaurants, and is especially known for antiques.

The name “Los Gatos” means “The Cats” in Spanish, referencing the mountain lions that are indigenous to the area.

Los Gatos is homes to Netflix, the online video rental service, and IC Manage, a company that helps businesses like TiVo manage information.  The median income for a household in the town was $94,319, and the median income for a family was $119,194. The per capita income for the town is $56,094.
