Sunnyvale  is a city in Santa Clara County, California.

Sunnyvale headquarters several high-tech companies such as Palm, Inc., AMD, Sandisk, and Yahoo!.  It’s also home to Onizuka Air Force Station, which is the only active military base in the San Francisco Bay Area.

As of the 2000 census, the city population was 131,760. The median income for a household in the city was $74,409, and the per capita income for the city was $36,524.

In Sunnyvale, the unified Department of Public Safety has all personnel trained as both firefighters and police officers and can respond to emergencies in either capacity.

Sunnyvale’s economy used to be based on the fruit and agriculture, and the water tower is painted to resemble a fruit cocktail can.
