Los Angeles has five commercial airports. The main airport for the city is Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), the fifth busiest commercial airport in the world. Other major commercial airports include Ontario International Airport (ONT), Bob Hope Airport (BUR), formerly known as Burbank Airport, Long Beach Municipal Airport (LGB), and John Wayne Airport (SNA) of Orange County.

LAX Parking
LAX Cell Phone Waiting Lot
To help reduce vehicle traffic congestion in the Central Terminal Area, LAX now has a 24-hour LAX Cell Phone Waiting Lot, where motorists meeting arriving passengers can wait for free until passengers call to say they are ready to be picked up terminal curbside.
The 79-space lot is located at 9011 Airport Boulevard, north of the intersection of Airport Boulevard and Arbor Vitae/Westchester Parkway. The lot is located five minutes from the Central Terminal Area and easily accessible from the north and east by motorists using La Tijera, Sepulveda, Manchester and Century Boulevards to access LAX.
Vehicles in the LAX Cell Phone Waiting Lot must be attended at all times
Public Parking
More than 21,144 parking spaces are available. In addition to 10,000 parking spaces in the central terminal area, LAX has a capacity of 11,000 cars in its economy-rate, long term parking areas.
Free shuttle service to airline terminals is provided around the clock from Lots B and C. Perimeter parking Lot C, northeast of the airport, also contains the Metropolitan Transportation Authority Bus Center, which connects public bus systems with the courtesy LAX shuttle bus service provided by the airport.

Getting to LAX
Arriving passengers may use commercial ground transportation services such as door-to-door shuttle vans, taxis, limousines, rental car, private parking lots and hotel courtesy vehicles. Additionally, buses are available to shuttle passengers to all LAX remote parking lots. Lot C is the location of the Off-Airport Rental Car Terminal where many rental car firms meet arriving passengers with courtesy shuttles.
Public transportation services available:
There is no direct train service to the airport, although there are free shuttle buses to Aviation Station on the Metro Green Line.
Taxis to downtown LA cost $30-35 and take 30 minutes in good traffic, but can much slower in rush hour.
FlyAway Bus
7610 Woodley Ave
Van Nuys, CA 91406
818-994-5554
If you live in the valley, the Van Nuys FlyAway is an appealing option. For $3.50, you can get a bus ride to the airport, whereas a cab would cost around $60. There’s parking at the FlyAway, and buses leave every 15-60 min, depending on time of day. The trip to LAX is on the 405 freeway, so you’ll want to leave plenty of time if you’re leaving during busy traffic.
Other Airports
LAX is generally going to have the cheapest flights in and out of the city, but other airports may end up being more convenient, depending on where you live. If you live in the valley, the extra cost to fly out of Burbank may be made up by the cost of driving and sitting in traffic.
