In a city with so much to offer, where do you start? Orlando’s only Official Visitor Center. can help. The bilingual staff will offer complete, accurate information from 8 am to 7 pm year-round, except for Christmas day. Discount tickets sales: 8 a.m.-6 p.m. daily

(closed Dec. 25). Here you can get information on hotels, attractions and restaurants, purchase discount attraction tickets and pick up a free Magicard, which offers discounts at area attractions, hotels, restaurants and shops. Maps, directions and guidebooks are also available.

Directions:
From I-4 East
: From I-4 East take SR-528 East, exit number 28 Take exit number 1 and merge right (North) onto International Drive. The Official Visitor Center is located 1.6 miles ahead on the right side of the road.

From I-4 West: From I-4 West take exit number 29A. At bottom of exit ramp turn left on to Sand Lake Road. Take Sand Lake Road to International Drive and turn right (South). The Official Visitor Center is located 9/10 of a mile ahead on the left side of the road.

From Orlando International Airport: From airport terminal follow signs to SR-528 WEST (portions toll). Stay on SR-528 for 10.2 miles, take exit number 1. At the bottom of the exit ramp merge right (North) on to International Drive. The Official Visitor Center is located 1.6 miles ahead on the right side of the road.

The City of Orlando offers over 150 programs, classes or activities, at our 17 recreation centers. Activities are available for adults, youngsters, pre-schoolers, and seniors.

Organized athletics programs and leagues for adults and youngsters are operated year-round by the City of Orlando, including aquatics, soccer, baseball, basketball, football, softball and volleyball. There are fitness rooms and gymnasiums at 8 City of Orlando Community Centers.

Year Round Aquatics Programs
Adult Fitness:
Swimming is the best exercise for your health.
The Adult Fitness self-paced lap swimming program offers you arefreshing way to exercise year round.

Club Swim Team: Year round United States swimming competitive team training. Ages 6 to 18.

Family Fun Nights: Presenting an event for the entire family. Held Friday nights during the summer months at various City pool locations.

Family Swim: Open swim time for families only. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult and children 6 and under must be accompanied by an adult in the water.

H2O-Robics: Water exercise programs for adults of all ages and fitness levels. Classes are held during the summer months at the College Park pool.

Junior Guard: Learn the basic skills of life guarding. Jr. Guards will shadow and assist pool guards during operating hours. Our program also offers field trips and a final Jr. Guard competition.

Public Swim: Open swim time for the general public. Children 10 and under must be accompanied by an adult and children 6 and under must be accompanied by an adult in the water. City residents are FREE. Non-City resident fees will apply.

Recreational Swim Team: Learn pre-competitive swimming skills by swimming on the Orlando Otters swim team. This program includes instructional swim meets, awards, prizes and a free t-shirt.

Summer in the City Teen Pool Parties: Teens ages 11-14 can make some waves at our teen pool parties offered on Saturday nights during the summer months of June – August. Call (407) 246- 2649 for dates, times and locations.

Swim Lessons: We offer American Red Cross swimming lessons for adults and youth ages 6 months and up. Morning and evening lessons available.

Synchronized Swimming: Learn the basics of competitive and performance synchronized swimming and perform in the summer

Special Programs
L.E.A.D. (Leadership Education Awareness Diversity)

Adventure Program. Offers middle teens (11-14 years old) the opportunity to participate in camping, hiking, canoeing, kayaking, sailing and many other adventure activities. Through these activities the kids learn teamwork, problem solving, communications and self-esteem skills. The trips range from one day to overnight excursions. Project J.O.Y. (Joining Older and Younger) A program dedicated to linking generations through interactive field trips and community projects. Activities include educational opportunities, conducting service projects and enjoying meals and performances together – the possibilities are endless! Call (407) 522-1917 for more information.

Primetime A before and after school program for middle school teens held at all five middle schools (Carver, Howard, Robert E. Lee, Stonewall Jackson and Memorial) located within the city limits of Orlando. This partnership between the City of Orlando and Orange County Public Schools focuses on reducing juvenile crime, keeping kids away from drugs and violence, improving school attendance and academic performance, providing supervised and structured activities and encouraging school and community pride. S.P.A.R.K. (School, Parents, Academics and Recreation for Kids) A program for elementary school students, providing supervised and structured recreational and educational activities before and after school at Dover Shores Elementary School and Dover Shores Community Center. Dr. Fun’s “WhatDoYouKnowOnTheGo” This mobile education center is designed to bring educational programs and recreational activities to areas where recreational facilities do not already exist. The bus is fully equipped with two computers, a library, an arts and crafts area, athletic equipment and a children’s activity area. Exceptional Recreation Program Programs for mentally and/or physically challenged. All events are held at the Loch Haven Park Neighborhood Center.

The Recreation Bureau operates 17 different centers for recreation, senior citizens and community programs throughout the City of Orlando. In addition to these centers, the Bureau administers several other facilities such as Turkey Lake Park, Lake Eola Park, the Orlando Tennis Center and the Orlando Sports Campus.
