Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Park
To the northeast of Visalia is Sequoia National Park in which groves of Giant Sequoia trees live including the General Sherman tree, the largest tree on earth. Right next door is Kings Canyon National Park, and they are managed as one park.
Mount Whitney, the tallest mountain in the contiguous United States, is located in the park. It rises to an impressive 14,505 ft.
